Detailed Description:

This role requires an excellent understanding of database and CRM systems as well as the maintenance of electronic records and reports. Exceptional attention to organization and detail and a high degree of accuracy is required. The data processing assistant must also possess the ability to work with other staff members and campus departments as a part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent judgment and an ability to perform concentrated efforts of data cleanups and application processing during peak admissions periods are also required. Because of the sensitive nature of admissions work, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Application Processing:

  • Data entry of application information from all sources into the database
  • Updating application information and decisions
  • Data cleansing of applicant information
  • Organizing, imaging, and indexing of credentials and other documents
  • Assisting with applicant correspondence

Providing support for the Director of Admissions:

  • Working with high profile (special interest) applicants by communicating directly with the applicants and their families. 
  • Serving as liaison between Admissions and the Offices of the President and Vice-Presidents with regard to special interest applicants.
  • Maintaining accurate records of special interest referrals.
  • Coordinating and attending meetings with offices and departments related to special interest applicants (i.e. President and VP’s) and marketing efforts (i.e. Housing, Public Safety, University Marketing and Alumni Relations)

Inquiry processing:

  • Data entry of inquiry information from all sources into the database
  • Data cleansing of inquiry information
  • Assisting with other inquiry correspondence

General clerical duties:

  • Emailing, faxing, general communication

Other special projects as needed:

  • Testing new technology features as well as standard features after system upgrades
  • Phones and front desk coverage

Special Conditions of Employment:

Background check:  Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes. 

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred but not required. 
  • Experience in a higher education environment is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of data entry experience is required, three or more years of experience is preferred.

  • Familiarity with general clerical procedures
  • Knowledge of databases and CRM systems such as Banner/Ellucian and Salesforce.,
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Must be reliable and able to keep regularly scheduled working hours. With advance notice, some evenings and/or weekends may be required.
Posting Salary:

$22.00 - $24.50 per hour; Excellent Benefits

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position.  Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
