This recruitment is open to current University of San Diego employees only. Only current USD employees are eligible to apply and be considered for this position.
This senior leadership position is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and enrollment activity for all new undergraduate students. The Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admissions contributes to the strategic direction and provides leadership in the development and execution of undergraduate enrollment strategies, ensuring alignment with the University’s mission, enrollment goals, and student success priorities. Key responsibilities include the supervision of admissions staff, the development and execution of annual recruit plans, and communicating those plans and the results to the campus community. This position oversees the processing and decision-making for all firstyear and transfer applications and ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of related operations through delegated authority to the Associate Directors. In addition, this position works with other campus constituents associated with the enrollment process, including financial aid,
international student services, housing, Dean’s office, and offices within student affairs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the design and execution of undergraduate recruitment, admission, and enrollment strategies, in partnership with the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, to support the University’s enrollment, class composition, and net tuition revenue goals.
- Work with Enrollment leadership and Marketing and Communications to coordinate marketing messages in all external communications including publications, web site, social media, and letters.
- Coordinate processes across the campus regarding the enrollment of new undergraduate students.
- Ensure the timely processing and decision of all undergraduate applications.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA guidelines in the recruitment of new student athletes.
- Ensure compliance with Homeland Security guidelines in the recruitment of international students, as well as coordinate activity with the Office of International Student Services.

Responsible for the development and execution of annual recruitment plans for undergraduate freshman and
transfer students, including data-informed strategies to strengthen market position, expand geographic reach, and
improve student yield.

Through the Associate Directors of Admission and Operations, provide leadership, direction, and supervision to the undergraduate staff.

Communicate the undergraduate plans, processes and statistics to campus community, providing regular updates and analysis to institutional leadership and stakeholders.

Serve as chief admissions spokesperson to students, parents, counselors, and other external constituents, representing the University with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm at the state, regional, and national levels.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to travel for several weeks consecutively as needed.

Job Requirements: |
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in undergraduate admissions or enrollment management, including leadership responsibility.
- At least 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience required.
- Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to travel for at least 4 weeks each fall and up to 3 weeks in the spring.
- A valid US passport and driver’s license are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher preferred.
