Detailed Description:

This is a full-time temporary, benefit-based position with an anticipated end date of October 31, 2027. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and continued funding.

The Associate Clinician will be responsible for providing direct clinical services to a caseload of 20-25 clients, delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and supporting clients through their mental health journey. This role involves working closely with veterans and their families, offering individualized care and maintaining a high standard of clinical practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Care:

  • Provide individual therapy to a caseload of 20-25 clients, including veterans and their families.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to clients’ needs and goals.

Assessment and Treatment Planning:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients’ mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and make adjustments as necessary.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and any other required documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other clinical staff, including supervisors and colleagues, to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other collaborative activities.

Crisis Management:

  • Provide support and intervention during clinical crises, including risk assessment and management.
  • Develop and implement crisis management plans as needed.

Professional Development:

  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in telemental health and clinical care.
  • Seek supervision and feedback to enhance clinical skills and effectiveness.

Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes. 

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Current registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, including direct case management responsibilities. Experience working with veterans is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Veteran-Specific Expertise Preferred: Apply knowledge and experience related to veteran-specific issues to provide tailored support and interventions. Stay informed about the unique challenges faced by veterans and their families.

Performance Expectations - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in telemental health platforms and a solid understanding of veteran-specific needs.
  • Attributes: Empathetic, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality care. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge in DSM-V-TR diagnoses. Knowledge of evidence-based practice, including targeted, evidence-based treatment modalities and measurement-based care. Experience in PTSD diagnosis and treatment. Certification or documented proficiency in one or more of the following EBP’s: PE, CBT and CPT is required
Posting Salary:

$5,720 - $6,250 per month; Excellent Benefits

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position.  Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
