The Environmental and Ocean Sciences Department seeks applications for a part-time instructor for EOSC 123 Organisms and Ecosystem laboratory (in-person modality). This course is an introduction to organisms and environmental biology from an ecological perspective. Students will learn about fundamental principles of ecology, in addition to major groups of organisms and how the two are related. This is a required course for all Environmental and Ocean Sciences majors. The laboratory exercises for this course have been well-developed, and materials will be provided. Generally, three field trips take place over the course of the semester to local areas including Mission Bay, tide pooling at Pacific Beach, and a visit to the San Diego Zoo.

Instructor for Organisms and Ecosystems (EOSC 123-02) laboratory: meets on Wednesdays from 2:30-5:20 pm (2 units)
This position is included in the Non-tenure Track Bargaining Unit, and the successful applicant employee, subject to the terms of the College’s Collective Bargaining will be a bargaining unit member and will be subject to the University’s Agreement with SEIU Local 721.
This is a part-time temporary, non benefit-based position with an anticipated end date of 12/31/26. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and continued funding.
