The Helen K. and James S. Copley Library, located on the west end of the campus, currently houses over 500,000 volumes. Collections include books, journals, reference works, databases, government documents, newspapers and electronic journals in many languages, as well as maps, videos, sound recordings, microforms and rare books.

Detailed Description: |
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefit based position with an approximate end date of May 22, 2024, with a possibility of reappointment.
Copley Library’s Department of Collections, Access and Discovery seeks a reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic Weekend Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all access services while on duty and provides excellent customer service to faculty, students, and other library users while maintaining a professional, positive demeanor at all times.
- Shelve books and assist with other services.
- Maintain a safe and quiet study environment in the library.
- Secure the building (including setting alarms) when closing.
- Follow and enforce all library policies.
- Work up to 15 hours per week (Saturday-Sunday).
- Report to the Head of Access and Outreach Services.

Minimum Qualifications:
Performance Expectations - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Punctual and reliable attendance.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace including Gmail.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn an automated library system to loan items and execute service related tasks.

Posting Salary: |
$16.49 to 16.50 per hour
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.

Additional Details: |
15 Hours per week
Saturdays: 1-9pm, and Sundays: 6pm-2am.
Must be able to work alternative weekend hours for two weeks each semester during our 24/7 study period (10pm-5am) and be flexible to accommodate abbreviated hours of operation during the summer.
