Detailed Position Description:

The Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego is searching for a full-time Associate Professor to teach in graduate nursing programs.

  • Teach and mentor graduate students
  • Conduct research and/or evidenced-based practice
  • Serve on dissertation committees
  • Mentor DNP projects
  • Evaluate educational outcomes and effectiveness
  • Develop program curriculum 
  • Serve on University Committees and School of Nursing committees
  • Attend and participate in SON's program meetings and USD-SON events and functions
  • Maintain a clinical practice if relevant
Job Requirements:

Candidates must have an earned PhD in Nursing or related field, record of scholarship, established or emerging program of research with the potential for extramural funding.  

Preferred Qualifications: Recent graduate teaching experience, established or emerging program of research with the potential for extramural funding, and a track record of peer-reviewed, high-quality publications.

Ability to teach across the graduate program in an innovative teaching/learning environment:

Mentor graduate and PhD students; conduct a program of research; and collaborate in program development, refinement, and expansion.

Licensed or eligible for California licensure; advanced practice licensure, with certification in specialty preferred.

Special Condition of Employment:

Successful completion of USDs onboarding requirements including but not limited to health requirements, pre-employment background check, and drug screen.  Degree and RN license verification.

Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes. 

Posting Salary:

$9,166-$10,000/month; Excellent Benefits

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position.  Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
