Records Assistant and Processing Archivist (LA3) Copley Library, Staff 3029
Under the supervision of the Head of Archives, Special Collections, and Digital Initiatives, the Records Assistant and Processing Archivist is responsible for establishing and managing a records retention program for the university archives and processing new and existing archival collections in a wide variety of media formats. They participate in the creation of record retention schedules, finding aids, and digital collections for archival material, as well as providing training for support staff. The person in this position also provides research assistance and monitors the Archives/Special Collections Reading Room. This individual must have excellent organizational skills and possess a keen attention to detail. They will work in a highly collaborative work environment, which requires the ability to work with a range of departments across the university and the library. The Records Assistant and Processing Archivist works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Archives, Special Collections, and Digital Initiatives Department.

Join a team of 7 staff and over 20 faculty working in the University of San Diego Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as an Organic Laboratory Technician. On the top of a scenic mesa with breathtaking views of the bay and the ocean, the department is a vibrant place to work with a strong team of staff and faculty, all collaborating in support of our teaching and research mission. The organic laboratory technician supports the organic teaching labs and some undergraduate research activities. The laboratory technician is responsible for the preparation of chemistry laboratory experiments, management of the assigned labs and preparatory spaces, supervision and training of student workers in the employee's area of responsibility. Other responsibilities include managing, collecting, and disposing of select laboratory hazardous waste and other assigned duties. We are looking for someone willing to work collaboratively with the staff and faculty and with strong independent proactive skills needed to keep the organic labs running smoothly. Minimum experience includes a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry and a year of experience in a laboratory environment. Open and close the building and ensure security of facility. Perform building rounds (interior and exterior)and inspections.
