The Computer Science Department is part of the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering (SMSE), which is ranked by U.S. News in the top 15 of non-doctoral engineering schools. Our department is growing, with 150 undergraduate students across our B.S. and B.A. programs. Our students are engaged both locally and globally, with sponsored  year-long capstone projects and our faculty offering courses throughout the world as part of our popular study abroad program. Detailed Description:

The Computer Science Department at the University of San Diego (USD) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position to begin Fall of 2023.

Candidates should have a doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related field at the time of employment. Excellent candidates from all areas will be considered, especially those interested in interdisciplinary collaboration. Candidates from underrepresented and underserved groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

The position will entail teaching both required and elective undergraduate courses within the CS department. A successful applicant will demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching to a diverse group of students in a small classroom setting. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate a strong history of scholarly work and a promising research trajectory that includes the mentoring of undergraduate students. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to advancing the university mission of creating a diverse and inclusive community and preparing leaders who are dedicated to ethical conduct and compassionate service.
