Detailed Description:

The Economics Department in the School of Business at the University of San Diego is seeking adjunct faculty candidates to teach various courses during the 2020-21 academic year with potential opportunities to also be offered in 2021-22 academic year.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Teaching one or more of the following courses: ECON 101, ECON 102, ECON 216 (course descriptions are included below).
  • Working with the Department of Economics chair and faculty to improve instructional materials and class activities to enhance student's learning outcomes and engagement.
  • Collecting relevant course data for the Economics program assessment and course improvement purposes.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:  

  • A Bachelor's degree in any field (Economics is preferred) or a related field, and a Master's degree in Economics.
  • A strong interest in teaching undergraduate-level courses.
  • Prior teaching experience is highly preferred.

Background check:  Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Posting Salary:

Consistent with the School of Business part-time faculty compensation rate.
