The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of San Diego invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant/associate professor level to begin in Fall 2020. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in operations research, simulation, and/or data science/analytics. The successful candidate should demonstrate the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching, and the capacity to establish and maintain a vigorous research program in an undergraduate academic setting. The inclusion of undergraduate students in research projects is highly valued and encouraged. Teaching responsibilities may include introductory and upper-division courses at the undergraduate level, in operations research, simulation, data science, systems engineering, operations and supply chain management, senior capstone design projects, and the first-year engineering sequence. The candidate will also play a key role in the development of new academic initiatives and industry partnerships that will improve student learning and the impact of the university.
An earned PhD degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is required at the time of appointment. Undergraduate teaching experience is strongly preferred.
