The College or Arts and Sciences and USD Humanities Center promote academic excellence with small class sizes, seminar-style teaching, faculty-student collaboration, close mentoring, and dynamic interdisciplinary programming.

Detailed Description:
 

The College of Arts and Sciences and the USD Humanities Center invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral fellow to begin September 2019. We seek recent PhDs with research interests at the intersection of science, technology, arts, and the humanities. Candidates with areas of expertise that include but are not limited to the history of technology, philosophy of science, artificial intelligence, robotic ethics, digital humanities, science/technology and society, and public policy and science/technology studies are invited to apply.

The successful candidate will be interested in teaching and helping to build a program in Science and Technology Studies/Critical Technology Studies in the USD Humanities Center. A commitment to teaching a broad range of courses is important, with prior teaching experience at the college/university level required. Candidates will also engage with programming and operations in the Humanities Center. The position is for two years and Candidates who have not yet had a tenure-track faculty position will have priority.  Those with expertise in methodologies used by the disciplines in the humanities will be preferred. 

Job Requirements:

PhD Required at time of appointment.

Background check:  Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
