Detailed Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

These are part-time, non-benefits-based positions, beginning in Fall 2026. The course load in Fall 2026 is 1-2 courses (i.e. 3-6 units), with a possibility of additional courses in Spring 2027, depending on enrollment needs. Classes are taught Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes. 

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have native or near-native fluency in Italian, hold an MA or PhD in Italian or a related field (e.g. second language acquisition, linguistics)  

  • Demonstrate experience with language teaching and/or teaching at the college or university level.  

Posting Salary:

Compensation: 

Compensation for this position will be paid on a bi-weekly basis at a per-unit rate of $2,581-$2,659, commensurate with qualifications. 

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position.  Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
